20/02/2009 A Nursing Bench for a flexible bathroom

Awarded the IF Product Design Award in 2008, the Pressalit Care Nursing Bench is height adjustable and extremely flexible with a range of options that can adapt to the user or carer’s particular needs.

For use in situations when a person needs to be bathed while lying down, the Nursing Bench is available in 1300 mm and 1800 mm lengths, and can be raised from a height of 300 mm up to 1000 mm by means of a wall-mounted lifting unit.

The Nursing Bench has been designed to ease transfer from a wheelchair, allowing the carer to select the optimal working height. Raising and lowering the Nursing Bench is easily carried out with a remote control unit. A fixed height solution is also available.

With maximum safety and comfort in mind, the Nursing Bench has a slightly curved profile with foam cushions preventing any discomfort from cold, hard surfaces and a safety rail which folds away under the Bench when not in use.

A water collection tray is integrated into the system and removable cushions make the Nursing Bench easy to clean.

After use, the Nursing Bench can be folded against the wall, allowing for complete use of the bathroom space.
