Treloars College - The carers story

Young people with a wide range of disabilities attend Treloar's College in the rural town of Froyle in England. Providing flexible bathroom solutions that can adapt to individual  as well as changing needs, Pressalit Care contributes to the smooth running of everyday life for these students.

There are 180 students from all over England and abroad at Treloar's. The college does all it can to give these young people the care, support, self-confidence, training, and most of all the education they need - to help them gain the life-skills to make the most of their potential.

This presents a significant challenge to the facilities at Treloar's. The college strives to provide every single student with individual support as needed, while at the same time these facilities must be used by students with many different handicaps, often combined with a reduced capacity for communication or learning difficulties.

But the students are not the only ones who learn and develop at Treloar's. The college staff must strive to reach their highest possible level of expertise as well.

Pressalit Care has taken all of these requirements into consideration in an integrated solution for the bathrooms at Treloar's College.

Carer Jenny Dubarry has first-hand knowledge of the daily routines at Treloar's, so we asked her to tell us about her experience with Pressalit Care systems in the residential area of the college.

"The importance of a solution which meets individual needs can never be underestimated. These students may need support in one sector and be fully independent otherwise. Here, no two students have the same needs," Jenny explains.

"It is such a big help to work with equipment that is easy to use. The bathroom is one of the places where most difficulties arise for handicapped people. We have improved both safety and mobility with our new room elements on tracks, because they're so easy to alternate," she continues.

Jenny also mentioned what a difference this practical solution makes for the daily cleaning of their bathrooms.
